EMPOWER HER for ALL TEEN GIRLS

Dawn is LGBTQIA2S+ affirming and accepting. Dawn does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical/mental ability, or marital status.
100% of teens who have experienced the EMPOWER HER group program recommend it to others. The overwhelming majority of teens who experienced this program returned for the next session of the program.
EMPOWER HER is an inclusive psychoeducational program that helps girls connect as they build confidence, receive support in managing personal issues, learn how and why their issues impact them, and learn practices to thrive in relationships, community, and their lives. These deep explorations will help them begin to heal, and the skills and practices taught in this program will empower them with lifelong tools.
EMPOWER HER focuses on the WHOLE person (body, mind, emotions, spirit) and the impact our issues have on ourselves and the impact we have on one another and our communities. Dawn creates a safe, accepting, confidential, and judgment-free space where teens feel free to share their deepest thoughts and worries. NO topic is off limits.
Although the program is explained below, Dawn also customizes EMPOWER HER to fit each group with which she’s working.
A few examples of topics that may be covered in EMPOWER HER include:

The creation of EMPOWER HER was inspired by Dawn’s years of working with women and her journey as a teen and woman. Most women struggle with shame and feelings of overwhelm and loneliness. Many are dealing with unresolved issues from early childhood, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, body image, boundaries, and more. Unfortunately, most women weren’t offered psychotherapy or taught practices and tools as teens that help heal and manage these issues, so they carry them into young adulthood and beyond.
Our girls are suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. They need to begin to heal NOW. They need these practices and skills NOW. This will help them thrive NOW—before they graduate from high school and as they move into womanhood. I know that my early life experiences would have been much different had I been taught what I teach teenage girls today.
EMPOWER HER is an inclusive program for ALL teen girls (cisgender and transgender). If you or your daughter are uncomfortable with this inclusivity, then this program is not for you.
